As the Financial Crime Compliance Manager, your core responsibilities will include:
- Designated Officer: Serving as the designated officer for the Malta entity, deputizing for the MLRO and playing a key role in the European compliance operations
- Strategic AML/CFT & Sanctions Oversight: Collaborating closely with the MLRO & Chief Compliance Officer to enhance and maintain robust AML/CFT and sanctions screening frameworks, business, jurisdictional, and customer risk assessment methodologies.
- Championing a Compliance-Driven Culture: Partnering with the Regulatory Team Lead and the broader Malta compliance team to cultivate a strong culture of compliance and proactively reviewing procedures to ensure agility in the face of evolving regulations.
- Influential Guidance & Reporting: Providing expert guidance and advice to business functions on remedial action programs and preparing insightful reports for the board and regulatory authorities.
What you'll bring to the table:
- Proven Expertise: A minimum of 5 years of demonstrable experience in a senior financial crime compliance role within the financial services sector or a consultancy firm ( within the financial services cluster) , or a regulatory body. Familiarity with other EU or UK financial services firms is a significant advantage.
- Exceptional Communication Skills: Fluent in English (C1/C2 level) with outstanding written and verbal communication abilities, including the creation of comprehensive and articulate reports.
- Regulatory Acumen: A strong understanding of and experience in interfacing with the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) and the Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit (FIAU).
- Relevant Qualifications: A degree in a relevant field and/or professional certifications such as an ICA Diploma or ACAMS qualification (or equivalent).
